Balcony in Ursynów
Designers: Wojciech Pytel
Area: 5 m²
Location: Warsaw
The arrangement of a balcony is a great challenge for a green designer. We are dealing here with the miniaturization of ... everything. Plants must be small, even stunted, furniture and accessories too. Need however, having a scrap of green in the form of a "pocket garden" is natural.
In this case, an oblong balcony was arranged with the use of wooden pots. These pots are a permanent element on the balcony. Thanks to their large capacity, they allow plants to grow properly. Insulation from the inside with polystyrene ensures the right conditions - also in winter.
The other elements of the arrangement, such as vegetation in containers, chairs and a table, are temporary.
The balcony is arranged in a minimalist, Scandinavian style. The following plants were used: rosemary, oregano, thyme, 'Maluch' forsythia, common ivy, pyrethrum, mossy sage, dwarf yew, Japanese turtle, sedge, Fortune's euonymus, periwinkle and grasses.
